Who I am:

My name is Valery Belyanin. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am a Certified Member of OAMHP (Ontario Association of Mental Health Practitioners). I hold PhDs both in Psychology of Personality and Psycholinguistics.
I worked in private industry and government agencies in the capacity of Researcher and as a University professor in seven countries. I have published nine books and have presented my findings at more than 60 academic conferences.

My professional approach:

I provide psychotherapy for people with poor self-image, depression, for those beset with self-doubt and those who struggle with life’s hardships. My aim is to help those in need to become more resilient and accepting of themselves and life challenges, and thereby become more happy.
My guiding paradigm is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This approach seeks to identify patterns of thinking and behavior that sustain negative and harmful life patterns. I also use a variety of methods, including Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Narrative Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Positive Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness Meditation.
I believe that every person has many choices ‒ whether to escape or to resist, to adapt or to cope with life’s difficult situations. Moments of confusion can be plagued for anxiety, fears and negative thinking often making it difficult to see solutions.
It is my job as a psychotherapist to help you to see your choices and to find resources, develop strategies, and channel your inner strength. I can help you to become your own coach and therapist. You will become the master of your own life.
